Margie Eggerson Shorty, a 61-year-old woman from New Orleans, was found dead on August 13, 2017, inside her residence in the 1300 block of Reynes Street in the Lower Ninth Ward. Authorities were called to the scene around 2 p.m. after a relative found her lying motionless in the hallway. Margie had sustained multiple puncture wounds, indicating a violent attack.
