On a Saturday evening in Kansas City, Missouri, 47-year-old Daniel Vernassie was found shot inside a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident, which marked the city's 91st homicide of the year, occurred around 8 p.m. on August 10, 2024, in the area of 12th and Bellaire. He was discovered in the front passenger seat of a black Nissan Altima with a gunshot wound to his neck.
