On August 10, 2024, 47-year-old Daniel (Danny) Dustin Vernassie was found deceased in Kansas City, Missouri. Officers responded to reports of a stationary vehicle near East 12th Street and Bellaire Avenue around 8 p.m., discovering Vernassie in the front passenger seat with a fatal gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
