On August 24, 2024, Chester Brown III, aged 35, was fatally shot near the intersection of West 39th and Central Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire and found Brown deceased at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. Two other individuals, a man and a woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
