In the Baden neighborhood of north St. Louis, on the evening of September 28, 2024, the life of a young man was cut short by violence. Elliott Smith Jr., a 27-year-old male, was in the 700 block of Ponce Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. when he was shot. First responders arrived to find Smith suffering from gunshot wounds.
