In the early evening of June 26, 2023, the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of Guerley Edouard, a 28-year-old male from the neighboring town of Roselle. Edouard was inside a parked vehicle on the 600 block of Salem Avenue around 8:30 p.m. when the tranquil evening was pierced by the sound of gunfire.
