In the crisp autumn air of October 1, 2023, the life of 22-year-old Mary Tink Taylor was tragically cut short in a hail of bullets on a Paterson, New Jersey street. The young woman was near the corner of Van Houten and Cianci streets, just across from her own home, when gunfire erupted around 9:22 p.m. She had been getting out of a white Hyundai Sonata, about to cross the street to her residence, when she was struck by a gunshot wound.
The chaotic scene was initially reported by a police
officer who heard the gunshots. Responding units discovered the gravely injured Mary Taylor and rushed her to St. Joseph's University Medical Center, but her wounds were too severe, and she was pronounced dead. Witnesses reported seeing a red Hyundai flee the scene, which was later found abandoned.
