In the quiet borough of Penns Grove, New Jersey, a dispute between two young men escalated into a tragic and fatal encounter. On the evening of April 2, 2024, the lives of 24-year-old Juniel Feliciano-Lopez and 23-year-old Henry Junior Kivelier Montero were cut short in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. The incident, which unfolded around 9:30 p.m.
in the 100 block of South Broad Street, stemmed from an argument that had begun days earlier, on March 30.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered Feliciano-Lopez inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, the Pennsville resident was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation quickly revealed that Montero, a Philadelphia resident, was the perpetrator. After shooting Feliciano-Lopez, Montero turned the gun on himself, succumbing to a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Salem County Prosecutor's Office, in conjunction with the Penns Grove Police Department, conducted a thorough investigation into the deaths. Their findings concluded that the tragic event was a contained incident with no other individuals involved.
