In the Campostella area of Norfolk, Virginia, on the evening of February 15, 2023, the sound of gunshots broke the winter quiet. Around 6:20 p.m., Norfolk police officers in the vicinity heard the gunfire and were quickly dispatched to what would become a scene of violence and loss.
