In the early morning hours of April 29, 2023, the life of 18-year-old Jabari C. Smith, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Norfolk, Virginia. Around 4:50 a.m., police were called to the 1400 block of Norchester Avenue after a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they discovered Smith suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later determined that the actual shooting had taken place in the 3300 block of East Princess Anne Road.
