In the early morning hours of July 6, 2023, the life of 33-year-old Darrell Dante Morton was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire near the Crater Square Apartments in Petersburg, Virginia. A lifelong resident of the city, Morton, known affectionately as 'Tae,' was a Black male born on June 26, 1990.
