On August 11, 2023, 24-year-old Antwain Royqwell-Garifield Hampton of Axton, Virginia, was fatally shot following an altercation with 33-year-old Akeem Laquan Clark, also of Axton. The incident occurred at 7064 Axton Road, where it was determined that during the confrontation, Clark produced a firearm and shot Hampton.
