On August 27, 2023, at approximately 4:57 a.m., Richmond Police officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 200 block of West Baker Street, near the Gilpin Court neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old Richmond resident Temetrius Trevonte "Doodie" Coker lying unresponsive in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
