Jolanda M. Londa Frye, a 47-year-old female, died on September 5, 2023, in Culpeper, Virginia, following a domestic dispute. The incident unfolded in the 600 block of Friendship Way, where authorities responded to a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, law enforcement encountered an armed male on a third-floor balcony who then retreated into an apartment and barricaded himself inside. The initial 911 call for help was made by Frye. As officers attempted to enter the residence to provide aid to her, the man inside began shooting at them.
After an extended standoff that lasted nearly nine hours, negotiators were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Harrison L. Jackson of Barboursville. Tragically, Jolanda Frye was found deceased at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed by the Chief Medical Examiner's office in Manassas.
Harrison L. Jackson was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including one felony count of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder of law enforcement officers. He is currently being held without bond at the Culpeper County Jail.
