On April 26, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Portsmouth, Virginia, resulting in the death of 10-year-old Keontre N. Thornhill. The young boy was struck by a stray bullet that entered through his bedroom window while he was opening it. The shooting took place in the 30 block of Farragut Street, and despite being rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Keontre did not survive.
