In the late spring of 2024, the community of King William County, Virginia, was unsettled by the violent death of one of its own. Shawn Roane, a 53-year-old Black male, was found deceased on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was discovered inside a vehicle, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
