On a cold December evening in 2014, tragedy struck in Petersburg, Virginia, ending the life of 35-year-old Jabari C. Lee. On December 30th, officers were called to the 400 block of North Carolina Avenue around 6:30 p.m., where they discovered Lee inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a community in shock and a family grappling with a sudden and violent loss.
