In the early hours of a Tuesday in Petersburg, Virginia, the life of Sean Allan Bassette, a 40-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short. On April 14, 2020, at approximately 12:23 a.m., police responded to a call on the 1700 block of South Sycamore Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Bassette suffering from a gunshot wound.
