In the early evening of June 12, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Hampton Street following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Wilson Negron Jr., a 46-year-old male from Henrico, on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. Friends remembered Negron, a father of two adult children, as a person with a 'really good heart' who was known for helping others.
