In the early morning hours of November 5, 2024, the quiet of Old Quarry Road in Ringgold, Virginia, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Pittsylvania County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at approximately 7 a.m. There, they discovered 26-year-old Tauron D. Brown Jr., a Black male from South Boston, suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was later transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for the Western District of Virginia for an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Authorities swiftly detained a suspect at the location of the incident. While a suspect has been identified and was in custody, their identity has not been publicly released. As the investigation continues with the assistance of the Pittsylvania County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, charges are currently pending.
