On January 4, 2023, 53-year-old Nathaniel Eugene "Gene" White III was found deceased in an outbuilding on his property at 1704 John Street in Lancaster, South Carolina. Responding to reports of gunshots, deputies discovered White with apparent gunshot wounds; despite immediate medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
