Melody Ann Murfin, born on December 16, 1954, in Spokane Valley, Washington, was one of the victims of the notorious serial killer Robert Lee Yates Jr. Murfin, who had a history of drug abuse, was reported missing on June 4, 1998. Her body was discovered in 2000, buried in Yates' own yard, a location that investigators had previously searched but missed. She was 43 years old at the time of her death, which was caused by two gunshots to the head.
