On September 4, 2024, 18-year-old Jelani Amir Jackson was fatally shot on Clinton Avenue near Ruth Street in Lancaster, South Carolina. Responding officers found Jackson with a gunshot wound; he was transported to MUSC-Lancaster Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
