On February 18, 2023, 20-year-old Lamontre T. Green was fatally shot at a Waffle House located at 1646 Bells Highway in Walterboro, South Carolina. Emergency responders arrived at approximately 1:40 a.m. to find Green inside the restaurant, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and unresponsive. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was transported to Colleton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
