In the early morning hours of February 18, 2023, the life of 20-year-old Lamontre Green was tragically cut short in a violent encounter at a Waffle House on Bells Highway in Walterboro, South Carolina. Green had entered the restaurant and approached a table where his girlfriend, Jordin Quoleaha Glover, and another individual, Charles Maurice Harrison Breland, were seated with others. A brief disagreement took place, the specifics of which have not been made public.
As Green turned to walk away from the table, he was shot at least six times. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Green dying on the floor of the restaurant.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led to the identification of two suspects. Jordin Quoleaha Glover, who was 19 at the time of the incident, was taken into custody the following day. A second suspect, Charles Maurice Harrison Breland, was also arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. Both were charged with murder in the death of Lamontre Green. Both Jordin Quoleaha Glover and Charles Maurice Harrison Breland faced the consequences of their actions in a court of law. In April 2025, a Colleton County jury found Jordin Quoleaha Glover guilty of murder following a three-day trial. She received a sentence of 30 years in prison for her role in the shooting. Later, in November 2025, Charles Maurice Harrison Breland was also convicted of murder. He was handed a more severe sentence of 42 years in prison. The convictions brought a measure of justice for Lamontre Green and his family, and ensured that those responsible for his untimely death would be held accountable.
