Deputy Sheriff Stephen Anthony Breland, aged 26, tragically lost his life on September 19, 1977, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Deputy Breland, who served with the Colleton County Sheriff's Office, was fatally shot while attempting to serve a warrant at a residence on 105 Lewis Street.
