In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 18, 2024, a quiet street in Walterboro, South Carolina, became the scene of a grim discovery that would shake the community. Harvell Rochester Breland, a 49-year-old male, was found dead, the victim of a violent shooting that authorities would later describe as a targeted attack. He was not the only one to lose his life that day.
Alongside him, 43-year-old Alisha “Grammy” Gardner and a young child, 2-year-old Asiyra Saige Cole, were also found deceased, all having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Justin Dupont, a 23-year-old from Walterboro, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Breland, Gardner, and the young child.
