On March 1, 2023, 47-year-old Myra Littlejohn Davidson was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Timken Gaffney Bearing Plant in Gaffney, South Carolina. The assailant was identified as 55-year-old Dock Theodore Roosevelt Hopper, her ex-boyfriend and co-worker at the plant. According to witnesses, Hopper approached Davidson as she arrived for work and, after a brief interaction, shot her multiple times before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide.
