In the early morning hours of April 4, 2023, the life of 23-year-old Javaria Nashay Drummond was tragically cut short in her Greenville, South Carolina, home. Authorities were called to a residence on Gibson Road around 5:15 a.m. for a reported shooting. Inside, they discovered that Javaria had been fatally shot. Several children were present in the home at the time of the incident but were thankfully unharmed.
The investigation into Drummond's death quickly led to a suspect.
Tevin Evans, 30, was arrested and charged with her murder. According to deputies, the shooting occurred following an argument between Evans and Drummond. Evans was taken into custody and was scheduled for an initial bond hearing the day after the shooting.
Javaria Nashay Drummond was a mother to two sons, Aziyus and Amiris Evans. She was a graduate of Greer High School and had furthered her education at Clemson University. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at The Woodlands at Furman. Remembered for her love of music, watching TV, and her daily Starbucks runs, her greatest joy was spending time with her children. Her sudden and violent death left her family, including her parents, siblings, and grandparents, to mourn their profound loss.
