On July 1, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., Spartanburg Police Department officers responded to a reported home invasion on George Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Upon entering the residence, they discovered 66-year-old Robert Douglas "Doug" Bivings in a bedroom, deceased from a gunshot wound to the head.
