Shelly Perrault, 47, female, was shot on October 8, 2025, in Sugar Land after her white SUV veered off Dairy Ashford near U.S. 90. Officers and two civilians tried to save her before she was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where she died of her wounds. Police later said early talk of road rage was incorrect; the shooting stemmed from a prior relationship between Perrault and the man they identified as the gunman.
