On September 25, 2023, in Granbury, Texas, eight-year-old Nayeli Anaith Carranza Aguilar was fatally shot by another juvenile inside a residence on the 2900 block of Inwood Trail. The Hood County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident around 4:53 p.m., discovering that Nayeli had been shot by another child while inside the home. She was airlifted to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, where she was pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m. the following day.
