On July 22, 2023, 26-year-old Derrick Lamar Wiley, Sr., known affectionately as "Droc," was fatally shot in Anderson, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on South Towers Street, where Wiley was attending a large party. An altercation broke out during the gathering, leading to Wiley being shot multiple times.
