In the late summer of 2024, the life of 23-year-old Aaron Joel 'AJ' Belton, a Black/African American male from Anderson, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. On the morning of Friday, August 2, 2024, Belton was inside his residence when violence shattered the peace. A vehicle passed by, and from it, gunshots erupted, striking Belton. He was rushed to AnMed Health for medical attention, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to them at 9:37 a.m. that same day.
