On December 24, 2023, 24-year-old Markel Quinchez Holland of Anderson, South Carolina, was fatally shot following an altercation at Simon's Bar and Grill on Clemson Boulevard. The incident occurred around 1 a.m., when an argument between Holland and another individual escalated into gunfire. Holland was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
