In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve in 2023, a violent altercation at a local nightclub in Anderson, South Carolina, tragically cut short the life of 24-year-old Markel Quinchez Holland. The incident, which unfolded at Simon's Bar and Grill on Clemson Boulevard, stemmed from a dispute that escalated to gunfire, leaving Holland with fatal wounds. Emergency services rushed the young man to AnMed Health Medical Center, but he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing surgery.
The Anderson County Coroner's Office subsequently ruled his death a homicide.
Markel, a resident of Anderson, was born on April 4, 1999. He attended T.L. Hanna High School and was an employee at Mac Bid in Anderson.
