In the early evening of August 23, 2023, a single act of violence tragically cut short the life of 18-year-old Izaiyah Lopez. A Hispanic/Latino male, Lopez was in the parking lot of a convenience store located in the 6300 block of Rivers Avenue in North Charleston, South Carolina, when the fatal incident occurred. Just before 7:00 p.m., the North Charleston Police Department received calls about a possible shooting and dispatched officers to the scene.
