On March 4, 2024, 65-year-old Harriet Mahaffey was found deceased in her home on Stewart Place in Heath Springs, South Carolina. A family member discovered her body after becoming concerned due to a lack of communication over several days. Upon arrival, authorities noted that the front door was unlocked, and Mahaffey had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators recovered 11 shell casings near her body, indicating the severity of the attack.
