On May 26, 2024, 61-year-old Joan Lynn Carline Mogensen was found deceased in her home on North Saint Paul Church Road in Sumter, South Carolina. The Sumter County Coroner confirmed that she had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Neighbors expressed shock and sorrow over her passing, recalling her as a kind individual who often shared her cooking with them.
