On July 17, 2024, 27-year-old James L. Wright Jr. was fatally shot in North Augusta, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 3:14 p.m. in the 500 block of Edgefield Road, where Wright was found between two buildings, having suffered at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Aiken County EMS at 3:46 p.m.
