In a chaotic burst of violence on a Sunday afternoon in Louisville, Mississippi, 23-year-old Devonta McMillian, a male resident of the city, lost his life. The incident, which occurred on February 12, 2023, unfolded in the parking lot of Blackwell's store, a local grocery, where a dispute between two groups escalated into a mass shooting. McMillian was struck in the head by a stray bullet and later succumbed to his injuries at a Jackson hospital.
