In the early morning hours of November 24, 2024, the life of 17-year-old JaMichael Conner of Louisville, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. Conner was brought to the Winston County Medicenter Emergency Room having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Louisville Police Chief Sean Holdiness confirmed that Conner had been shot multiple times.
Investigators believe the fatal shooting occurred in the 300 block of East Oak Street. In the wake of the incident, an autopsy was scheduled to be performed at the Mississippi State Crime Lab to aid in the ongoing investigation. The Louisville Police Department urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward to assist in the case.
The investigation into Conner's death led to a significant development in August 2025. The Louisville Police Department announced the arrest of 19-year-old Alexzay Martez Triplett in connection with the homicide. Triplett was charged with first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling. His bond was set at $500,000. Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests are anticipated.
