In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in mid-February, the stillness of a Jackson, Mississippi neighborhood was broken by a discovery that would soon ripple through the community. A man, later identified as 34-year-old Joseph B. Reddix, was found lifeless inside his vehicle near the intersection of West and Taylor Streets. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and the scene painted a grim picture of a violent end to a young life.
