On April 1, 2023, 19-year-old Jaquavin Kentrelle Tyson of Byhalia, Mississippi, was fatally shot during a horse show event on O’dell Road in Marshall County. The gathering, attended by over 100 people, turned tragic when Tyson was pronounced dead at the scene by coroner James Richard Anderson. Another individual, 20-year-old Quenicy Jenes, also from Byhalia, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
