In the summer of 2023, tragedy struck a family in Greenwood, Mississippi, when 14-year-old Robert Kentrell Anderson Jr., a Black male, was killed. On the evening of July 11th, young Robert was standing in his own yard when he was struck by gunfire. According to his mother, he was not the intended target of the shooting, making his death a random act of violence that has deeply affected his loved ones and the wider community.
