In the early morning hours of a Monday in June, the life of 21-year-old Samar Gary was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The young man from Greenwood, Mississippi, was at the Triple Stop gas station on Mississippi 430, also known as Humphrey Highway, in Leflore County when he was shot. The incident occurred around 9:28 a.m. on June 16, 2025. Emergency services were called to the scene, but Gary was declared dead upon their arrival.
