On September 4, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., Greenville Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of Valliant Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a residence had been struck by bullets. Inside, they found 27-year-old Kensheria Kiara Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to Delta Health Systems, where she succumbed to her injuries.
