In the early morning hours of June 8, 2024, the life of a young woman, Latia Wilson, was tragically cut short in Greenville, Mississippi. The 26-year-old Black female was found lying on the ground in the 200 block of Utah Street with a single gunshot wound to her side. Officers had been dispatched to the area around 2 a.m. following reports of shots being fired. Despite the immediate response, Wilson succumbed to her injuries.
