In a tragic turn of events at Eagle Lake, 28-year-old Gabrielle Summer Tatum lost her life in what authorities have described as a murder-suicide. The incident unfolded on the night of November 7, 2023, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The man responsible for her death was identified as 41-year-old Steven Junior Craft, who had a documented history of domestic violence, including previous instances against Tatum.
On the evening of the incident, Craft contacted a relative and chillingly stated his intention to kill Tatum before taking his own life. The concerned relative immediately alerted the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were dispatched to the residence to intervene.
Upon their arrival, the deputies were forced to make entry into the home. Inside, they discovered the bodies of both Tatum and Craft. Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds, and the weapon was found lying next to Craft. The investigation into the double fatality is being handled as a murder-suicide.
