On December 8, 2023, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Philadelphia Police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Bay Street. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals with gunshot wounds: 26-year-old Lamontae Ryshaan Salley of Eupora, who had sustained a chest wound, and 23-year-old Jatarrius M. Kelly of Philadelphia, who was wounded in the leg. Salley was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kelly was transported to Neshoba General Hospital for treatment.
