On December 28, 2023, 43-year-old Willie Earl Ford Jr. was found deceased with multiple gunshot wounds on West Ridgeway Street in Jackson, Mississippi. Jackson Police Department officers responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m., where Ford was pronounced dead.

The following day, authorities identified 25-year-old Felix McClinton as a suspect in Ford's murder and issued a warrant for his arrest. McClinton subsequently turned himself in to the police on December 29, 2023.
