Robert Joe Washington, Sr., a 37-year-old officer with the Jackson Police Department in Mississippi, tragically lost his life on November 15, 1995. Officer Washington was on duty the night of his death, patrolling the area around Highway 80 and Shaw Road in Jackson. He cleared his last call around 9:00 pm but failed to report back to the precinct when his shift ended at 10:00 pm. Despite numerous attempts by the dispatcher to contact him, there was no response.
