On May 2, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., Jerome G. Young, a 39-year-old man from Centreville, Mississippi, was fatally shot while seated in his white BMW outside the Chevron store at 1290 Mississippi Highway 24 East in Centreville. Witnesses reported that a four-door Audi with multiple occupants approached from behind and opened fire, riddling Young's vehicle with bullets.
